Bio: My research aims to better understanding how the way people think about themselves, their abilities and their life as whole (termed “metacognition”) may play a role in unusual experiences, such as hallucinations and delusions, and functional difficulties, such as difficulties engaging in work/school, in early psychosis. I received my PhD from University of Sussex, UK, where I focused on understanding the mechanisms behind metacognitive difficulties in early psychosis, including the development of a metacognitive model which was used to explore the causal path to functional difficulties. Currently, I work at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School where I aim to use mobile technology to monitor day-to-day fluctuations in functioning and metacognition in early psychosis.
